Canton of Geneva launches a Drone Taxi Initiative
With the EIP-SCC European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities the State of Geneva will take part of the Drone Taxi Initiative. It is the first Smat City/Region to join it and others will be announced in June.
Switzerland has a solid expertise in the drone industry. The Canton of Geneva has a focus on innovation and mobility and it is part of the OASC Association. It is the perfect place to start the EIP-SCC Urbain Air Mobility program.
In the first phase, the Canton will study the feasibility of a Drone Taxi under the mobility perspective. If the feasibility study will be positive and approved, a demonstrator test could be set up in 2021.
SMEs, accademics, citizens will be involved. A first meeting is planned on June 29, 2018 under the umbrella of the Office de la Promotion des Industries - OPI
